On the Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Embassy of Pakistan hosted a workshop regarding Intl Humanitarian Law at the Intl Conference Hall, Korea Press Center recently. Through the workshop, the Embassy of Pakistan concluded: “Peace in South Asia is impossible without any resolution of the long outstanding Kashmir dispute”.

Twenty Seventh October marks a tragic day in the history of South Asia. This is the day India sent in its armed forces to occupy Jammu & Kashmir against the aspirations and fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people as well as against all principles of International Law, according to the Embassy of Pakistan.

Pakistan’s standpoint is that Pakistan will not relent in its moral, political and diplomatic support until the Kashmiris realize their legitimate right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

The Embassy of India responded swiftly also, uploading MOFAT Spokesperson’s Statement on Terrorist Attack in Jammu and Kashmir, India in its Embassy website. The following is MOFAT’s statements: 1. The government of the Republic of Korea strongly condemns the car bomb attack that was launched on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Pulwama area in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the Republic of India, on February 14.

※ According to the Indian government, some 40 police officers are known to have been killed in the attack.

2. The government of the Republic of Korea extends its deepest consolation to the victims killed in the terrorist attack and their bereaved families.

3. It is the firm position of the government of the Republic of Korea that terrorism is a crime against humanity that cannot be justified under any circumstances and must be eradicated. Going forward, the ROK government will continue to take an active part in the international community’s efforts to eliminate terrorism.
