The June Festival 2018 to mark Korea America Friendship
Award & Ceremony to honor exemplary service members
took place in a downtown hotel Seoul on June 21th evening
in a significant point of time when North Korea‘s
denuclearization negotiations are being progressing.
This year‘s winners for the Korea America Friendship
Society Award 2018 were SFC Manuel, Ryan Michael from
U.S. Army, PS2 Antonio L. Hill from U.S Navy, MSqt
Christopher M. Thompson from U.S. Airforce, Cpl Casiastapia
, Jose from U.S. Marine Corps., and last but not least
Mr. Richard M. Scott, DoD Civilian., according to the
Award Committee.
As distinguished guests, president Han Chul soo from Korea
America Friendship Association, 2nd vice minister Cho
Hyun from MOFAT, Charge d‘Affaires a.i. Marc E. Knapper
From U.S Embassy, Commander GEN Vincent K. Brooks
from UNC/CFC/USFK were on hand to show their solidarity
between the two countries as well as to encourage service
members from both Korea & U.S.
By his commemoration remarks, Charge d‘Affaires a.i
Marc E. Knapper attracted attention by mentioning that
any illusions are unnecessary for both countries with
regard to recent North Korea‘s denuclearization talks.
„There are many tasks towards the road of North Korea‘s
denuclearization process. This is a beginning, not an end“, Knapper
stressed. Both countries have to take advantage of opportunities
before their sight to the maximum through ceaseless cooperation
and efforts so that more bright future can be ushered, he added.
