【기동취재본부=NDN뉴스】김원국기자 =GCS International signed a cooperation agreement with the Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association on the promotion of world peace through taekwondo at the World Taekwondo headquarters in Seoul on November 1, 2019.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate for the promotion of world peace through taekwondo and related educational, cultural and sports events around the world, especially in developing countries.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Chungwon Choue, president of GCS International and World Taekwondo; and Grand Master Kim Kyung-Duk, president of the Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association.

The two organizations also agreed to fully cooperate to foster global leaders through taekwondo education. They agreed to donate proceeds from their fund-raising events for the disadvantaged youth in developing countries.

Thousands of taekwondo students under the Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association participated in the 2019 DMZ Peace Festival, which was jointly organized by GCS International and the Kukmin Daily at the Imjingak Peace Nuri Park in Paju, Gyeonggi Province in Korea on June 29, 2019.

Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association President Kim and other ranking officials also attended the inauguration ceremony of the GCS International West Bengal, India Chapter in Kolkata, India on December 9, 2018 on the occasion of the 2018 Indo Korean Taekwondo Cultural Festival.

(재)밝은사회클럽 국제본부(GCS International, 총재 조정원)는 2019년 11월 1일 세계태권도연맹 본부에서 경기도태권도협회(회장 김경덕)와 업무협약서를 체결했다.

조정원 밝은사회클럽 국제본부 총재와 김경덕 경기도태권도협회 회장간 체결된 협약서에 따라, 양측은 저개발국을 포함한 전 세계에서 태권도를 통한 세계평화 증진에 상호 협력하기로 했다.

주된 협력 분야로는 양 기관의 국내외 태권도 관련 교육, 문화, 스포츠 사업 상호 협력 및 관련 행사 공동 개최, 태권도 발전을 위한 상호 협력 및 태권도를 통한 세계평화 증진에 노력, 그리고 태권도 교육을 통한 세계 인재 양성 협력 등이다. 

양 기관은 다양한 교육 프로그램 및 행사를 통한 수익금은 저개발국 태권도 지원에 사용하기로 했다.

본 협약에 앞서, 지난 6월 29일 경기도 파주 평화누리공원에서 밝은사회클럽 국제본부와 국민일보 공동 주최로 열린 ‘2019DMZ평화대축제’에 경기도태권도협회 산하 회원들이 많이 참가한 바 있다. 

지난 2018년 12월 9일 인도 콜카타에서 열린 ‘2018 인도-한국태권도문화축제 및 국제상 시상식’ 행사에 양 기관 임원이 참가한 가운데 ‘밝은사회클럽 국제본부 인도 서뱅골 지부’ 결성식 행사가 열렸다
