On the occasion of the Olympics Day on June 23rd, France National Olympic Committee, France Paralympic Committee, the 2024 Paris Olympic Organizing Committee and its Paralympic Organizing Committee cohosted the 2nd Sports Festival on June 22-23 in partnership with Korean counterparts following last year within Korea.

To commemorate its successful closing & outcomes, French Amb. Pabien Penone threw a closing reception in his Amb. residence, located in Hapdong, Seodaemun-District Seoul while Korea Sports Promotion Foundation president Mr. Cho Jae-ki in addition to over 80 invited guests were on hand.

Touching upon the increase to a total of 15 games events such as soccer, bolleyball, footsal, rugby compared with last year, Penone pointed out: "The purpose of the Sports Festival is to spread the value of Olympics & sports widely by allowing the general public to experience physics activities as well as sports activities at firsthand".

Through his state visit to France on Oct, last year, President Moon Jae-in discussed to host the 2nd Sports Festival within Korea with his France counterpart President Emmanuel Macron, reaffirming to support French language's substantial usage with the 2024 Paris Olympics as well as Paralympics in mind. The two leaders allowed for the value of sports to awaken that it contributes to the peace and reconciliation, Penone said.
