-Downtown-type festival as well as night-type arts festival

Following last year's great success in terms of its economic ripple effects, visitors from home & abroad, program operation fields totalling to almost 102 programs in 7 fields, and last but not least its boom-up effect & regional economy activation by the famtour of the Seoul Diplomatic Corps., Diplomatic Corps. are invited to the 4th Daejeon Seo-gu(West-District) Healing Arts Festival on this Friday(May 24th) by the invitation from West-District mayor Chang Jong-tae, Daejeon Metropolitan City & its festival organizing committee chairman Kang Do-mook jointly.
According to the committee, the 2018 Daejeon Seo-gu Healing Arts Festival has operated a total of 102 programs in seven fields, attracted a total of 252,000 visitors and last but not least achieved its economic ripple effects of about 9.9 billion won.
About its character of the festival, mayor Chang Jong-tae from West-District, Daejeon explains: "It is a culture arts festival which will be unfolded amongst the downtown", adding its festival will provide visitors with splendid memories through arts tree, arts tunnel, box arts exhibition, portrait drawing etc., to name just a few.
The festival secretariat also said that it settled down as a downtown-type festival as well as night-type festival, referring to the expansion of citizens & family participation programs.

Diplomatic Community's famtour to the 2018 Daejeon Seogu Healing Art Festival!

-Daejeon Seogu(West-Ward) Healing Art Festival took root as a region's peculiar and differentiated festival in the nation.
Combining healing & art in the heart of the Metropolis Daejeon, the 3rd Daejeon Seogu(West-Ward) Healing Art Festival took root as a region's peculiar and differentiated festival in the nation.
At this year, the 2018 Daejeon Seogu Healing Art Festival tried to be reborn as a global festival by inviting Excellencies & senior diplomats from the Seoul Diplomatic Corps. so that West-Ward Office, Daejeon Metropolitan City can strengthen its overseas exchange and boost its festival image as a representative festival on the peninsula.
Accordingly, over 40 diplomats including some Ambassadors and many senior diplomats joined Daejeon Seogu Healting Art Festival including Bulgaria Amb. Petar Andonov as dean of the visiting diplomatic community, Spain Amb. Gonzalo Ortiz, Romania Amb. Mihai Ciompec, Charge d'Affaires a.i. Luis Pablo from the Embassy of Bolivia and many defense attaches such as Brigadier General Fernando Colchado Gomez from the Embassy of Mexico & Brigadier General Win Moe from the Embassy of Myanmar, to name just a few.

Upon arriving at the West Ward Office, Daejeon Metropolitan City on 10 am, May 25th Friday morning, visiting diplomatic Corps. were welcomed by Acting Mayor Kang Chul-shik from the West Ward Office because of the forthcoming 6.13 Local Election & chairman Kang Do-mook from the Daejeon West-Ward Festival Propulsion Committee and its dedicated officials at the 3rd floor conference room, West-Ward Office, Daejeon Metropolitan City.
Conveying his warm hospitality as well as expressing sincere thanks for their visit despite of their busy schedule, Acting Mayor Kang hoped that visiting diplomatic Community will be able to publicize Daejeon Healing Art Festival all over the world including their home countries of course.
Touching upon the fact that Daejeon Healing Art Festival attracted a total of 350,000 visitors last year, chairman Kang Do-mook from the West-Ward Festival Propulsion Committee, Daejeon said he is pleased to see that Daejeon Healing Art Festival is being elevated day by day in terms of its international standing.

As the capacity of the dean of visiting diplomatic community, Bulgaria Amb. Petar Andonov replied that we ambassadors & senior diplomats also will not spare support and any assistances so that Deajeon Healing Arts Festival can settle down as a real global festival beyond a mere regional festival in Daejeon by experiencing many programs such as arts tree, arts light tunnel and last but not least fireworks etc.
After the welcome ceremony, visiting diplomatic community visited Gyejok mountain to experience yellow soil road walking by the invitation of chairman Cho Woong-rae from the Mackiss Company, a Daejeon-based hard liquor manufacturer.
With the length of a total of 14.5 km, this Gyejok Mt. yellow soil road is being included as one of the 100 tourist destinations Korean must visit definitely and is filled with many visitors on weekend, according to Cho who adds that yellow soil road walking is good for the circulation of the blood.
In the afternoon, visiting diplomatic community dropped by Daejeon Municipal Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Center as well as Lee Eung-no gallery to experience a large flute solo and beaux-arts from former well-known Korean artist Lee Eung-ro in Paris, Europe.

In its official opening ceremony to heard its start during 3 days, many regional dignitaries were on hand including former vice speaker Park Byung-suk from the National Assembly, Acting Mayor Lee Jae-Kwan from the Daejeon Metropolitan City as well as visiting diplomatic community members.
