The relation between Pusan Intl Film Festival and French Night spanning over last 20 years is very special compared with another commemorating events than any other Embassy has been hosting.

To make its participation more special, Embassy of France has been bestowing its France Culture Award upon renowned Korean actors or actress who have contributed to the development of movie industry between the two countries.

Without exception this year as well, French Amb. Pabien Penone who was on hand to share French Night commemorating the 23rd Pusan Intl Film Festival, awarded its France Culture Award on Korean veteran movie director Kim Ji-woon who has close connections with France film industry by encompassing diverse genres.

Touching upon so close relations between France & Pusan Intl Film Festival, Mr. Lee Yong-kwan, Representative of the Pusan Intl Film Festival Organizing Committee toasted through his congratulatory remarks at French Night, saying that “Lets enjoy Haeundae after typoon ‘Kong Rey’ passed.

Chief Mr. Michel Drobniak from the Economic Office, Embassy of France & vice chairwoman Choi Yoon-jung from Paradise Group and last but not least French MC lady Ida Dossi were conspicuous VIPs among over 200 invited guests.

At last weekend, Komacon project pitching was held as part of BIFF, introducing Legend of the Gaia, ESC, Dream for you, The Land of the Spirit and Real Action etc. On Saterday evening, Lotte Culture Works hosted its Lotte Culture Works Night at BEXCO to encourage superior moviemen. Gangwon Film Commission presented its opening reception of “Yes, Gangwon”, “Lounge of Peace Gangwon and ‘Link of Cine Asia’ also cemented its friendships & exchange by holding an opening reception among Asian moviemen.
