I hope that the third inter-Korean summit this year planned to be held in Pyongyang in September will further contribute to the impressive efforts H.E.Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea made so far for having relaunched a process of dialogue and diplomacy in the Korean peninsula and on the denuclearization perspective, supported by the EU. As a member-state of the EU, Republic of Bulgaria continues to insist on the need to have complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization before lifting of sanctions on DPRK. The verification will also be a key to ensuring a successful outcome in efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.

Message by H.E. Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Ambassador of Pakistan to RoK

I wish Korea the best in the improvement in relations with DPRK and hope for peace on the Korean Peninsula. Pakistan stands with RoK in all times of need.

Pakistan welcomes the historic Summit between President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at Panmunjom on 27 April 2018 and hopes that it would lead to lasting peace, prosperity, stability, reconciliation and cooperation between the two Koreas as well as in the region.

Pakistan has always encouraged the DPRK and RoK to resume meaningful negotiations and supported all efforts for smooth reunification of the Korean Peninsula including the two Summits between North and South Korea in June 2000 and 2007. It has been Pakistan's consistent position that all relevant parties should pursue the path of dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions, refrain from any action that is inimical to peace and stability in the region and work towards achieving a comprehensive solution to the Korean Peninsula issue.
