Coinciding with the opening of the 2018 FIFA WorldCup Russia, Russia Day 2018 allowed to illuminate once again that Korea has to turn its perspective to Russia amid recent reconciliatory atmosphere of inter-Korean relations and now is the time to invest in the Russia Federation.

Russia President Vladimir Putin said on the Kremlin's Ivanovskaya Square for the National Day, Russia Day.: "Our country has been through numerous critical times and severe trials. But our multinational people met all challenges with dignity and honour. The foundation, the core of this unity and tenacity has always been and always will be devotion to the Fatherland."

In Seoul as well, Russia Amb. Alexander Timonin stressed the ever-growing ties between Korea & Russia in a diplomatic reception held at the downtown hotel Seoul on June 12th evening, touching upon 18.9 billion dollar scale trade between the two countries, up 41.4% in comparison with the previous year as well as bilateral investment cooperation possibilities in Siberia far-eastern region etc.

Touching upon President Moon's State Visit to the Russian Federation, 1st vice minister Lim Sung-nam from MOFAT also said: "The two heads of state are expected to reaffirm their commitment to the promotion of forward-looking Korea-Russia relations.", adding based on this, the two leaders are anticipated to discuss how to enhance substantive bilateral cooperation, including the development of future growth engines.

At the same time, their discussion will focus on how to link bilateral collaboration with the common prosperity and advancement of the Eurasian continent going beyond Northeast Asia. They will also consult with each other on the denuclearization of North Korea and the settlement of peace on the Korean Peninsula, according to Lim.

Thirdly touching upon considerable economic ripple effect which will lead to logistics Siberia if the reconciliatory atmosphere of the two Koreas is continued further, Russia Honorary Consul Mr. Jung Heon said that now it the appropriate time for Korean investors to invest in the Russian Federation.
