Qatar Amb. Mohamed Abdulla AL-DEHAIMI & Mme. took advantage of its 2017 Qatar National
Day reception as an opportunity to publicize the 2022 Qatar
World Cup. With regard to giving up the 2022 World Cup, Qatar
does not absolutely consider, Al-Dehaimi said in an interview with local newspapers recently,
adding its resources export also will be proceeded without any stumbling.
In recognition of his excellent diplomatic activities since
the beginning of 2014 as Qatar top envoy in Seoul, NDNnews

Association bestowed the 2017 Best Amb. Award on Qatar
Amb. Mohamed Abdulla AL-DEHAIMI last June at the
Memorial Hall, National Assembly.
According to the Embassy of Qatar Seoul, 30% of natural gases
Korea imports from overseas are from Qatar. In that regard, Qatar’s diplomatic cessasation with some Middle East countries also is
to a some degree a concern for Korea as well.
Qatar was ranked as 33th position globally in terms of UNDP HDI(Human Development Index) in 2016 as the country advanced in
every areas such as human, science and development, to name
just few. In terms of its transparency & international competitiveness
as well, Qatar is being assessed highly, recording the most ranking
among Arab countries.
In terms of GDP per one person, Qatar is the most highest in
the world with 130,000 dollars, according to recent survey.
Qatar government’s “Vision 2030” presents precisely balanced
development
between economy, society and environment and it is reported
that Qatar respects all international charters and agreements,
striving for maintaining its friendly relations with all countries
all over the world including the Republic of Korea. Many Arab
envoys were on hand including Diplomatic Corps. Dean Oman
Amb. Mohamed Salim Alharthy to congratulate Qatar National
Day 2017 in addition to Jordan Amb. Adel Mohammad Adaileh,
Libya Amb. Otman S.S. Ahbara, Iran Amb. Hassan Taherian etc.
On the other hand, The Qatar Cabinet, chaired by HE the Prime
Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, approved
Qatar’s Second National Development Strategy (NDS) (2018-2022), prepared by the Ministry of Development Planning and
Statistics (MDPS), in coordination with the entities concerned,
according the Embassy of Qatar Seoul.
The strategy includes the following points: 1 - Aspects related
to 2022; achievements, lessons learnt and continuing support
towards implementing Qatar National Vision 2030, in addition
to economic performance and future prospects.
2 - Institutional development, service providing and financial
management
3 – Sustainability of economic prosperity
4 – Human development strengthening
5 – Proper social development
6 – Sustainable development that preserves the environment
7 – Strategic performance management
The Prime Minister directed the ministries and other entities
concerned to formulate plans and projects to implement the
second strategy. He also said that the Ministry of Development
Planning and Statistics (MDPS) will be in charge of following up
the implementation of the strategy and providing periodic reports
to the Cabinet, including what has been achieved, and obstacles
and solutions to these obstacles.
