Since its independence on 1971 46 years ago, UAE has been
showing sustainable growth, resulting in a regional leader with the region.
This year’s 46th UAE National Day recepton was a venue that
shows off such UAE’s standing at both with the region and around the world as well
as with a huge gala dinner reception which showcased UAE’s wealth & phase.
In a National Day diplomatic reception held in a spacious Dynasty
Hall, Hotel Shilla on Dec. 1st evening, UAE Amb. Abdulla Saif Al
Nuaimi said that UAE ranks as No. 1 country in the world in terms
of humanitarian assistance as well in that UAE donated about
174.0 billion dollars to 178 nations globally in 2017.
Touching upon its significance of UAE Independence for the
peoples of UAE first off, Nuaimi added that the UAE national day
is a glorious occasion for UAE citizens to celebrate their belonging
to this land, and express their pride in the wise leadership of H.H.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan President of the UAE, His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President
and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi
and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well
as Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of Emirates.
Turning the attention of gathered crowd to its UAE 2021 Vision,
Amb. Nuaimi introduced that the UAE Vision 2021 was launched,
charting the next stage of the country’s progressive journey towards achieving a cohesive and identity-based society, distinction and sustainable development in all fields.
Various plans and strategies announced and implemented over the
past decade have assuredly come to fruition, he said. International
rankings based on global standards and a rigorous scientific
approach reflect these achievements. In the UNDP Human
Development Report, the UAE ranked amongst the top countries
with very high human development, excelling in regional and
international indicators measuring people’s happiness, public satisfaction, security and stability, scoring high
in the Social Progress Index.
On the foreign front, the United Arab Emirates approached the
world with great openness, commented Nuaimi. This resulted in the
establishment of strategic political, economic and commercial
partnerships as well as judicious and key partnerships in the fields
of culture, sciences, education and healthcare with many countries
across the world including the Republic of Korea, thus enhancing
its prestigious standing in the international community.
In regard to bilateral relations between Korea & UAE, Nuaimi
said that I would like to hail the bilateral relations between our
two friendly countries. These relations found their roots in the
principles of cooperation and mutual respect, and evolved into a
strategic partnership between the two countries and peoples over
recent years, according to Nuaimi.
The mutual visits of the leaders of the two countries and the ever-growing volume of commercial, economic and cultural exchanges
bear witness to the strong bilateral ties our countries share in various
fields such as exchange of oil products, cooperation in defence,
nuclear energy, renewable energy as well as health services and
financial services, he said.
As usual every year, UAE reception attracted a number of envoys
from the Middle East & Africa continent including Sudan Amb.
Mohamad Abdelaal Haroon, Libya Amb. Otman S. Saad Ahbara,
Oman Amb. Mohamed Salim Alharthy etc.
