MOFA Spokesperson’s Statement on Terrorist Attack on Mosque in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula
Egypt Charge d’Affaires Diaa Hammad received condolence
callers from 2 p.m, on Dec. 1(Fri.) at the Egypt Embassy who came to deliver their condolences
for the victims of Terrorist Attack last week in Egypt.
Diaa Hammad said that Egypt Government wants to disseminate
Peace’s message all over the world, not yielding to Terrorist Attack any
more as well as taking advantage of this opportunity.
In conjunction with this, The government of the Republic of Korea
strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the al-Rawda mosque in al-Arish in the northern part of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on November 24. The ROK government extended
deep condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack and their
families, and the government and people of Egypt, and wished the
injured a speedy recovery. The ROK government also hoped that
the Egyptian government’s efforts to fight terrorism will bear fruit
and strengthen security
and stability in the Sinai Peninsula, according to MOFAT.
Condolence callers on Friday at the Egypt Embassy included
US Charge d’Affaires a.i Mr. Marc Knapper, Austria Amb. Michael Schwarzinger,
and Lebanon Charge d’Affaires a.i Mr. Elias Nicolas. The ROK
government will continue to
join the international community’s efforts to eradicate terrorism in line with its firm and consistent
position that terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, according to MOFAT.
