-Turkmenistan emerges as hub of Eurasia Continent & Silkroad
Reception on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishing
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea
was organized last week in Seoul.
On October 17, 2017, a reception on the occasion of the 25th
Anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan
and the Republic of Korea was held in a banquet hall “Namsan” at
the “Grand Hyatt” hotel in Seoul.
25 years ago, the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1992
and exchanged their respective embassies in 2007 in Turkmenistan for
Korea as well as in 2013 in Seoul for Turkmenistan.
Touching upon brisk business activities of LG, Kia & Daewoo to name
just a few, Turkmeministan envoy Myrat Mammetalyyev said by his
welcoming remarks that the two nations have been closely cooperating
in international arena based on mutual confidence. Ambassador for
Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
Korea, Her Excellency Park Enna mentioned the importance of
Turkmenistan as hub of Eurasia continent as well as Silkroad, adding
close partnerships between two countries will be continued in the years to come.
The heads and members of diplomatic missions and international
organizations accredited in Seoul, representatives of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the official representatives of
other ministries and departments, members of local and foreign media,
as well as heads of a number of major Korean companies were invited
to the reception. Overall, the number of guests who took part in a
solemn ceremony was over 200 persons.

After the performance of the national anthems of Turkmenistan and
the Republic of Korea, a welcoming speech was delivered by the
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to
the Republic of Korea M.Mamedaliev. Then the floor was taken by
Ambassador for Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
of the Republic of Korea, Her Excellency Park Enna.
The official reception was accompanied by music performance from
the repertoire of famous Turkmen composers as N.Halmammedov
and others, as well as video films about the contemporary life of
Turkmenistan and its nation were demonstrated. The guests were
offered dishes of Turkmen national cuisine.
