With the accreditation of New Vietnam Amb. Nguyen VU Tu who took office 

as of Arpil 24th, this year as a turning point, Korea-Vietnam relations greeted new phase, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Korea-Vietnam diplomatic ties on Aug. 29th evening in a downtown hotel Seoul.

As many observers agree on it, Vietnam is a new emerging market which 

has been recording almost average 7% growth rate from last 1986 until 2016. 

In terms of the relations with Korea 

as well, Korea has been the 2nd ODA (official development assistance) 

assistant country for Vietnam and each country's 150,000 residents are living 

in each countries respectively.

As regarding each country's trade perspective, Korea is the largest investment 

country as well as the 3rd largest trade commerce country for Vietnam, 

according to speech of Vietnam Amb. Nguyen VU Tu.

In reflection of such close relations during last 25 years between the two 

countries, many dignitaries gathered in a gala dinner reception to mark the 

72nd anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam as well as the 25th anniversary 

of Korea-Vietnam diplomatic ties including deputy minister Cho Hyun from MOFAT 

(Ministry of Foreign Affairs) from the Republic of Korea, Vietnam Foreign 

deputy minister Ha Kim Ngoc, ASEAN secretary general Le Luong Minh in 

addition to many 

attendances of the Seoul Diplomatic Corps. who included Russia Amb. Alexander 

Timomin with his spouse, Belarus Amb. Andrei Popkov with his spouse, 

Turkmenistan Amb. Myrat Mammetalyyev with his spouse, etc.

First off, Amb. Nguyen VU Tu emphasized the standing of current Vietnam, 

touching upon that Vietnam will be a hosting country for APEC Summit and 

his country forms a diplomatic ties with 170 nations in the world.

He assessed bilateral relations between Korea & Vietnam as an exemplary case 

for other countries. Further, Vietnam Amb. rated Moon Jae-in government's ASEAN policy highly which attaches importance on it 

in parellel with four neighboring powers such as US. China, Japan and last but not

least Russia.

For the second part of the reception, Hue Court Music, A o Dai fashion show, 

Vietnam traditional wedding costume fashion show and last but not least 

national flower parade decorated the stage with the attendance of Indonesia 

Amb. Umar Hadi etc. in the case of national flower parade.
