On the occasion of the annual Pride Korea Awards 2017 held at the Memorial 

Hall, National Assembly on 2 pm, Sep. 5th, The NDNnews (www.ndnnews.co.kr) 

& Korea Culture Ambassador Friendship Association as its affiliated organization 

bestowed coveted Proud Amb. Awards on 5 honorable ambassadors by its 

strict screening & judgement who were composed of external experts and 

inhouse committee members etc.

In recognition to their remarkable achievements during Amb. duty period in 

Korea, 5 honorable ambassadors received the 2017 Proud Amb. Awards from 

former Domestic Affairs of State Minister Ahn Eung-mo who chaired this year's Pride Korea Awards, that is, Qatar Amb. Mohamed 

Abdulla Al-Dehaimi, Kenya Amb. Mohamed Gello, Iraq Amb. Wadee Al-Batti, Belarus Amb. Andrei Popkov, and last but not least Tajikistan Amb.

The following is a congratulatory speech, delivered by H.E. Andrei Popkov, 

Belarus Amb. to the Republic of Korea on behalf of other 4 recipients 

ambassadors during the opening ceremony. -Ed.

On behalf of the Seoul Diplomatic Corps., I am very proud and honored to 

be selected as a recipient of the 2017 Proud Amb. Awards along with 

other colleagues ambassadors.

We understand the grand significance of the Pride Korea Awards which bestow 

on proud Koreans as well as foreigners who meaningfullycontributed to the 

enhancing of the standing, national dignity and international bonds of the 

Republic of Korea.

We share the position that only the great performance in the course of 

applying innovations will assure the further economic growth and development

of all the nations. The Republic of Korea is constantlydemonstrating its 

achievements on the path of building the economy of the future and 

modern society.Meantime, the overall success and prosperity in our global 

world require making every effortfor advancing the better understanding 

and political, economic, scientific, cultural and other ties among peoples 

and countries. The diplomacy serves these purposes while strengthening 

international cooperation and friendly relations for meeting current common 

challenges and paving ways for sustainable development.

The awarding of ambassadors is not just recognition of their personal 

contributions but always a tribute to the value of nations they represent. 

In this regard, I would like to highlight a number of important steps 

forward made by the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Belarus in the 

fields of economy, science, technology and educationover 25 years of the 

history of our relations. Despite geographical distances and some cultural 

differences our peoples have a lot of commonalities in the vision of the world, 

region and humankind.

Once again, we ambassadors convey our heartfelt congratulations on all 

recipients and 1 personally pledge to do my best as Belarus Amb. to bolster 

bilateral relations between Korea and Belarus.

Since being accredited as Kenya top envoy in Korea on Feb., 2015, Your

The Seoul Cafe Show as well as Seoul Coffee & Tea Fair, to name just a few.
