4 honorable ambassadors from the Seoul Diplomatic Corps. received the 2017 covetable 

Best Amb. Awards from the NDNnews & Seoulcity magazine in partnership with the 

Korea Culture Ambassador Friendship Association as well as Korea Consumer Association, 

two backbone affiliation organizations of the NDNnews on the occasion of the 2017 

Korea first, World best Awards Ceremony, held at the Memorial Hall, National Assembly, 

on July 11th afternoon.

Distinguished recipients from Diplomatic Corps. were Paraguay Amb. H.E. Irineo Raul 

Silvero Silvagni, Thailand Amb. H.E. Sarun Charoensuwan, Germany Amb. Stephan Auer 

and last but not least Israel Amb. H.E. Chaim Choshen.

Former Science & Technology Minister Park Ho-goon who served as President of Incheon University as well, who bestowed the 2017 Best 

Amb. Awards on 4 envoys, said: “For our society, it is necessary for masterpiece politics, 

masterpieces economy, and masterpieces society to play their responsible roles”.

Touching upon their contributions of 4 ambassadors for bilateral relations in terms of 

widening diplomacy horizons, president Shin Hyun-doo pointed out that Korea first means directly world best, adding today’s recipients from each companies, local governments and last but not least from 

Diplomatic Missions will serve as a foundation for the Republic of Korea to go forward 

further.

Screening Committee chairman Ko Sung-sam who checked the entire screening processes to select all recipients ranging to about 

70 persons, company, local government, and ambassadors, pledged to devote their more 

harder efforts so that Korea first, and World best Awards can be reborn as a really global 

festival beyond just Korean society.

H.E. Irineo Raul SILVERO SILVAGNI Ambassador of Paraguay to the Republic of Korea

Your Excellency presented an emblematic example model case for cooperations with 

Korea among South American countries envoys accredited to the Republic of Korea in 

terms of encouraging Korean enterpreneurs' investment into Paraguay, saying that the 

Paraguayan government encourages the Korean companies, known for their passion in 

work ethics, to aggressively explore the Paraguayan market and invest in my country.

Furthermore on the occasion of 55 years of diplomatic relations between Korea & 

Paraguay in 2017, Your Excellency contributed not a little to boosting the image of 

Korean immigrants in Paraguay, illuminating newly that the first group of Korean 

immigrants arrived in Paraguay 52 years ago and more than six thousand Koreans live &

In terms of widening diplomacy horizons with Europe since the inauguration of 

President Moon Jae-in, Republic of Korea, Your Excellency laid new groundwork for bilateral diplomacy by 

carrying out Germany envoy role excellently on the occasion of President Moon's 

Germany Official Visit during July 5-6 by the invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel as 

well as G20 Summit Hamburg.

For Korea, Germany is an ideal partner to share strategic cooperations in diverse areas, 

giving us ceaseless inspiration and momentum of cooperation including coexistence & 

compromise, strong SMEs, warm market economy, international responsibility 

consciousness and experience of division & unification, to name just a few.

President Moon's Germany visit served as an important part in the processes of going 

forward for the Republic of Korea to the peace unification on the peninsular, to say 

nothing of confirming Germany's cooperation to solve North Korea's nuclear issues.

of faciliating extensive & brisk relations between the two countries, that is, in introducing 

partnerships between Israel Government & priviate sector, in particular Hitech field as an 

innovation model each nation's governments imitate, lectures regarding Israel's Youtairen

 education, regional exchanges such as cooperation with Jecheon City & education 

exchange discussion with Jeju Provincial Government, and last but not least defense 

field cooperation including Israel's Iron Dome sales for Korea, to name just a few.
