Azerbaijan appeared to have great hope & expectation on newly elected President of 

Korea H.E. Moon Jae-in, Republic of Korea.

Such expectation & hope were revealed by Azerbaijan Amb. Ramzi Teymurov speech 

which was dedicated to the 99th Anniversary of Azerbaijan Republic Day as well as the 

25th Anniversary of the Establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea & Azerbaijan.

In a diplomatic reception to mark such two important events held in a hotel Seoul on 

May 24th evening prior to its original Republic Day May 28th, Teymurov introduced: 

"We strongly believe and hope that the first chapter of our bilateral relations that 

started and encouraged with the visit of late President Roh Moo-hyun will be followed by the new Administration of Korea led by President Moon Jae-in and open new chapter in our relations that will further develop our cooperation to the 

highest level".

According to Teymurov, in his recent message to newly elected President of Korea H.E. 

Moon Jaein, President of Azerbaijan H.E. Ilham Aliyev stated: "I believe that through our 

joint efforts we will continue to strengthen and expand the existing friendly relations 

and cooperation between our countries for the benefit of our nations".

In his congratulating letter as well regarding 25th Anniversary of the establishment of 

diplomatic relations, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan also said: "I am 

glad with the current level of relations existing between our two countries based on 

friendship and mutual understanding. I attach a great importance to the development 

of our relations in all spheres, especially in political, economical, scientific, educational 

and cultural fields.", according to the Embassy of Azerbaijan.

As regarding bilateral relations between Korea & Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Amb. assessed 

that today, bilateral realtions are in a high level, adding Azerbaijan and South Korea 

work closely and support each other in the framework of International Organizations. 

Azerbaijan evaluates the Republic of Korea as a priority country in terms of economic 

and trade cooperation, Teymurov said. Actually, economic cooperation between Korea 

and Azerbaijan is especially active in the areas of infrastructure, energy, construction, 

transportation, information technologies, environment and alternative energy.

Touching upon celebrating 99th anniversary of the National Day-Republic Day of Azerbaijan, Teymurov maintains: "It shall be noted that it was a historic 

event of global scale, because the first ever democratic republic was created in the 

Muslim East." Nowadays, the Republic of Azerbaijan is a politically state with a dynamic 

economy. Azerbaijan is one of the unique places where cultures and civilizations meet. 

in recent years Azerbaijan became an international hub for many cultural, humanitarian 

and sports events.

Azerbaijan Amb. Ramzi Teymurov wrapped up his speech by saying: "I strongly believe 

that the future of my country is bright and promising with its rich historical statehood 

policy that encouraged by brave spirit of Azerbaijan nation, resolute and perspicacious 

leadership who has clear agenda and making Azerbaijan highly developed country and 

of course support and inspiration of friendly countries like the Republic of Korea".
