Many ambassadors of unprecedented number from the Seoul Diplomatic
Corps. during recent CICI Korea Image Award events showed their keen interest
in Korea's image by attending CICI Korea Image Award 2017 Ceremony.

In her welcoming remarks, president Choi Jung-hwa from CICI said: "We
gathered this evening to praise three awardees of the 2017 CICI Korea
Image Award, sharingtheir achievements which contributed to enhancing
Korea's image to the world".
Expressing her sincere gratitude for former prime minister Han Seung-soo, & ambassadors from 63 countries accredited to Seoul among others,
Choi hoped that all participants would even more strive for the more better
& recognized Republic of Korea with 5 virtues such as knowledge, & courage
contained from the year of rooster.
Former prime minister Han Seungsoo said that Se Ri Pak's meteoric rise in women's
golf was seen as a source of hope and courage to people who were struggling
with the financial crisis in South Korea in 1998. U.S Amb. Mark Lippert
added that CICI has been promoting to spread out Korea's soft power to the
world, saying he believes CICI will continue to actively engage in cultural
exchanges in the years to come.
As an awardee of Korea Image Stepping Stone Award, Se Ri Pak replied
through Q&A that she will make double efforts to become better sportsman for the
sports &golf circle of the Republic of Korea, adding she seems to receive this
Award thanks to juniors rather than herself.
British Amb. Charles Hay received Korea Image Stepping Stone Bridge Award on
behalf of AlphaGo who has had a profound impact on the popularity of Go in
the west, and has also inspired professional & amateur players to experiment
with their game strategies.
Thirdly Korea Image Firestone Award Awardee was chairman Tae-kwon Cho from Kwangjuyo who as a 'Hansik missionary', has taken
the lead in the globalization of Korean food culture, and has continued to show the
possibilities of Korean cuisine to the world.
